(f)un-employment.
It's obvious that fall is coming to the prairies.
The onset of September usually means that I'm headed back to work after a summer off. Over the four years that I was a technician at the theatre I was unemployed over the summer months. I loved it. I did as I wished over the best months of the year and then it was back to the crazy grind until May rolled around again.
This year is different.
For one, there's no paycheck every week. It's fairly terrifying.
Luckily, leaving your career seems to be in vogue with my friends and I have a large group of individuals that have embraced (f)un-employment just like me.
Who wants to think about what they'd rather be doing for their entire lives?
I digress.
I do want to share that I'm keeping busy these days. Between shows I'm writing and rehearsing. I'm making plans for the near future. One such scheme involves the release of my album. The date will be announced at the end of this month. (Really pushed for that summer release, but these things must be done right, no?)
It's exciting to see this new life begin in it's slow, plodding way. One decision, one conversation, one song at a time.
