back to the island.
Hello friends.
Thanksgiving is pretty much a done deal for us Canadians. I got lucky & squeezed in a proper holiday weekend with my family while on the road. A few relatives made the trip to BC & I had the chance to indulge in the festivities. What a treat!
Somewhere in the haze of waltzes and Schottisches played on the accordion (as well as re-experiencing my aunt's saxophone habit that just won't quit) I once again realized that my family is musical.
I would post photos, but I fear repercussions.
Beth and I are headed to Vancouver Island for the next few days. I love it there. Specifically Victoria, which is where I'm headed tomorrow. I have a nagging feeling that one day I will go there and never leave. I used to live on the island, and have always thought that I moved before it was my time. I am always drawn back to it. I love Bean Around the World and Caffe Fantastico. Fernwood and James Bay. Dallas Road and the Breakwater.
What more can be said? I guess I left my heart in Arbutus Bay.
We've got a couple of days to take it in before it's time to get to work again. I'll be happy to see old friends and to revisit my haunts.
Just one more reason to give thanks, I suppose.
