portable concerts
Well, hello friends.
Tonight is an evening that I've been looking forward to for quite some time.
Back in October we did a show for the CBC at The Artesian. It was my first time recording live and I was a little wound up about it.
I think I still am, actually.
There's a part of the show that comes to mind in particular. In the first song, Waikiki, Beth spun her bass around. She's done this a fair few times, but this once - when we're recording with a live audience - she caught her mic cable and ripped the pick-up out.
It was memorable. The magicians at CBC have eliminated the horrid sound it made and saved the laughter of the crowd. Some things just don't make the translation to radio.
But, the good news is that if you missed the show, you can listen on Radio 1's SoundXchange today at 5pm. Here's a bit of info about the show, and if you miss it, you can listen online at the Concerts on Demand site.
Everybody wins.
Hope you enjoy it. I'm pretty damn excited about all this.
